Things from Vance's second year on TDS (2000)
In 2000, The Daily Show put their year long segment Indecision 2000 in first gear. Segments such as 'A Daily Show Tale of Survival', and lots of the mainstream 'human interest' stories were cut substantially for more political themed things. Which was perfectly okay, because Vance still got airtime and that's all that counts. But regular viewers could see by the end of 2000 that Vance knew that it was near the end of his run on TDS.
